Do I need a SAM.gov account to use this integration?

Yes. You need a registered SAM.gov account with an active Entity Registration or an Individual account to generate API keys.

Is the SAM.gov API free to use?

Yes. The SAM.gov public API is free for registered users. There are rate limits, but Proposal Connect manages those automatically.

How often are opportunities synced?

Proposal Connect checks for new and updated opportunities on a configurable schedule. The default is every 6 hours, but you can set it to as frequently as every hour.

Can I filter which opportunities are imported?

Yes. You can configure filters by NAICS code, set-aside type, place of performance, agency, and more to only import relevant opportunities.

Does this integration support SAM.gov Entity Management?

Currently, the integration focuses on Contract Opportunities (federal solicitations). Entity Registration management is not supported at this time.

How to Connect SAM.gov with Proposal Connect

Connect SAM.gov to Proposal Connect to automatically discover and import federal contract opportunities. Once connected, new solicitations matching your filters appear directly in your pipeline -- no more manual searching across government portals.

Before you start

1 A Proposal Connect account with Admin or Manager role
2 A registered SAM.gov account (Individual or Entity)
3 A SAM.gov Public API key (generated from your SAM.gov profile)

Open Third Party Integrations

Click Settings in the sidebar, then select the Third Party Integrations tab.

Navigate to Settings then Third Party Integrations tab

Click Connect

Find the SAM.gov card and click Connect.

Get Your SAM.gov API Key

Log in to SAM.gov, navigate to your profile, and generate a Public API Key under the API Key section. Copy the key -- you will need it in the next step.

API key not appearing? New SAM.gov accounts may take up to 24 hours before the API key section becomes available. Check back later if you just registered.

Enter Your API Key

Paste your SAM.gov API key into the connection dialog in Proposal Connect. Click Connect to verify the key works.

That's it. Proposal Connect will start pulling matching opportunities from SAM.gov automatically. New solicitations appear in your pipeline and you can review, analyze, or start proposals directly.

Sync Schedule & Settings

Choose between every hour, every 6 hours (default), or daily.

Auto-Import Attachments

Automatically download solicitation documents -- SOW, RFP, and amendments.

Get notified when new opportunities arrive or existing ones are amended.

Manual Sync

Click "Sync Now" at any time to fetch the latest opportunities immediately.

Managing Your API Key

Keep your SAM.gov integration running smoothly.

Key Rotation

SAM.gov API keys do not expire, but you can regenerate them from your SAM.gov profile at any time. Update the key in Proposal Connect after regenerating.

Rate Limits

The SAM.gov API allows 10 requests per second. Proposal Connect manages rate limiting automatically so you do not need to worry about exceeding limits.

Disconnect

To stop syncing, open the SAM.gov integration card and click Disconnect. Your previously imported opportunities remain in Proposal Connect.
